The Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA) needs your help! The biggest environmental bill of the year is in trouble and will be up for a vote this week. Please call your state legislators and ask them to support the Clean Energy Jobs Act, Senate Bill 516 and House Bill 1158.

The CEJA would bring thousands of solar and wind energy jobs to Maryland and would require that we get 50% of our energy from clean sources (solar and wind) by 2024. Our legislators need to pass the CEJA this year or Maryland will lose solar and wind energy jobs to other states that are more serious about clean energy. We cannot afford to wait another year–your legislators need to hear from you!
Here is a sample script:
Hello, my name is [NAME] and I live in [CITY]. I am calling [LEGISLATOR NAME] today in support of the Clean Energy Jobs Act, which is [Senate Bill 516 OR House Bill 1158]. I am deeply concerned about the impact that climate change is having on our planet. I think Maryland needs to lead the nation in taking bold actions to reduce emissions and reverse the warming trends. The Clean Energy Jobs Act, not only increases our renewable energy requirements but it will also create thousands of jobs in our state. I ask that [LEGISLATOR NAME] vote favorably on [Senate Bill 516 OR House Bill 1158], the Clean Energy Jobs Act. Thank you and have a good day!
