Asylum seekers are arriving daily in Maryland. The majority are parents with children from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. They arrive traumatized from their experiences and with few resources, settling in local communities with their “sponsors,” typically immigrant family members, to await their ICE appointments in Baltimore or elsewhere.
DoTheMostGood is supporting Takoma Park Mobilization’s Direct Support to Immigrants initiative. We are working to procure the supplies needed for care packages provided to every new asylum seeker arriving in Montgomery County.
