On the passing of Rep. Elijah Cummings

Baltimore, the state of Maryland and the United States have lost a beacon of light and hope with the passing of Rep. Elijah Cummings.

The longtime Baltimore congressman’s passion for his community served as a stellar example for passionate public service that many of us aspire to. Cummings, fiery in his own right, showed patience and a steady hand in the face of a sometimes boisterous Resistance, helping guide us to more productive methods of activism. His insight and leadership will be deeply missed.

Indivisible Montgomery stands with the Cummings family, Baltimore and all of Maryland in mourning the passing of Rep. Elijah Cummings.

  2. As an IM member who attended several hearings he chaired, I will deeply feel his loss: his unfailing integrity, steadying hand, common sense and fairness. This is a loss for Maryland, Congress and all Americans
