SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 2020, FROM 10:30 A.M. TO 12:30 P.M., AT THE GAITHERSBURG LIBRARY
This month Indivisible Montgomery welcomes back Virginia Canter, the chief ethics counsel for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).
Ms. Canter will tell us about CREW’s latest report, Trump-Proofing the Presidency: A Plan for Executive Branch Ethics Reform. Among the recommendations in the report are:
- Strengthen the integrity of government
- Prevent conflicts of interest
- Improve financial disclosures
- Enhance the rules on gifts to public officials
CREW is “dedicated to fighting the influence of money on our political system, [using] high-impact legal actions to target government officials who sacrifice the common good to special interests.” Find out more at citizensforethics.org.
Following the main meeting, we will write letters to voters to encourage them to turn out in November.
This meeting is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend.
